Frederick Lindy III Obituary

UNION, Ind., May 21—(Special to The Democrat)—Frederick Lindy, one of the best known and retired farmers of this place, passed away at 2:15 o'clock Monday morning at his home here, following an illness of five weeks. Mr. Lindy had been afflicted with cancer of the stomach for several years, and it was the immediate cause of his death. Widely known throughout the county he was a man of ability, turning his attention to agriculture and stock raising until his failing health incapacitate him from work. Frederick Lindy was born November 19, 1843 at Pike County, and was in his 74th year at death. He is survived by his third wife, and one son, Fred Lindy, of Union. He is also survived by six children by his first wife, who are Frank, of Washington, Ind.; James, of Union; Henry, Neal, Charles, and Miss Rose LIndy of High Grove, Cal. One sister, Mrs. C. Decker, and a brother, A.J. Lindy, both of Union, survives.

He was a member of Company F 91st Ind. Regiment of the civil war. He was a member of the Cumberland Bethlehem church.

The funeral will be held at the residence at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, and the remains will be interred in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
