Rocco Ambruso Obituary 1935
Rocco Ambruso died unexpectedly early this morning, Jan. 4, 1935, at his home, 929 Rutger Street following a heart attack.
Dr. Russell Joy was called and he in turn notified Dr. Gordon A. Holden, coroner, who pronounced death due to heart disease.
Mr. Ambruso was a bootblack and had conducted a stand at the New York State Railways waiting room on Bleecker Street for several years. During the last six months he had conducted a stand at the Arcade Building. He was born in Italy and came to this country and to Utica 20 years ago. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Teresa D'Alesandro Ambruso, he is survived by two sons, Dominick and Joseph, and a daughter, Miss Victoria Ambruso, all of Utica; four sisters, Mrs. Pietro D'Onofrio, Italy; Mrs. Francesco Parese and Mrs. Francesco Turi, both of Utica, and Mrs. Rocco Romano, Brooklyn, and a brother, Frank Ambruso, Hartford, Conn.
